Stem Week 2022

In April, Scoil Bhríde celebrated STEM week with lots of fun activities. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. STEM is important because it pervades every part of our lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering is the basic design of roads and bridges, Mathematics is in every occupation; every activity we do in our lives.

During STEM week each class from Junior infant to 6th were assigned a different STEM activity each day, and had lots of fun through active learning in the process! Activities included Bee Bots, Roller coaster challenge, Slime making, K'nex challenge, Construction, investigating Starch and acids and bases, Egg drop challenge and many more. We finished the week off with a Curragh Nature walk. A fun week was had by all.
