Wake Up to Zumba! Monday morning 30th May- Everyone Welcome to join in
We are delighted to offer such a fantastic kick-start to our Active School Week. Parents, staff and children are all invited to take part in an energetic Zumba session on Monday morning. Come along - it will be fun!!


Invitation to visit your child's classroom - Monday morning 30th May
You are invited this Monday morning to visit your child's classroom for a few minutes to view the work they have been focused on during May. You'll find lots of artwork in the classrooms, in the GP Room and along our corridors. We know the children will be excited for you to see their work. Hopefully you can join in the Zumba too while you're in the school!


Curragh Walk - Wednesday 1st June
Curragh Walk sets off just after Assembly on Wednesday coming, 1st June. All parents, grandparents, guardians and dogs (on leash) are invited to join us for the walk. Do please remember to send in €1 with your child. This covers the cost of fruit refreshments. For more information on how your €1 is used, please click here


Music Lessons with Jennie Bagnall
Music teacher, and parent, Jennie Bagnall, gives Music Lessons in Scoil Bhride on the following days. Tuesdays 2:00pm to 2:30pm: Junior Infants - OCARINA 2:30pm to 3:00pm: Junior and Senior Infants - VIOLIN 3:00pm to 3:30pm: 1st Class - RECORDER Wednesdays 2:00pm to 2:30pm Senior Infants - OCARINA Please contact Jennie directly with any queries T: 086 332 2136 Lessons cost €30 for 7 weeks and children will perform on their 8th week. Ocarinas cost €20 and will be ordered

Maths for Parents - Postponed for the Moment
Thank you to those parents who had expressed an interest in our Maths for Parents talk. It was scheduled for Thursday 26th May, however, we have postponed it for the moment. A rescheduled date (most likely this Autumn) will be announced. Thank you.


Blindfold Tasting - Wednesday 25th May Junior Infants - 2nd Class
The Healthy Lifestyle Committee will hold a 'Blindfold Food Tasting' workshop for Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd Classes on Wednesday, 25th May. A range of different fruit and vegetables will be presented to each class to give the children an opportunity to taste them and learn more about healthy eating. A big thank you in advance to parents Mag Quinn and Mairead Mulcahy who are organising this event.


School Closed - Friday 27th May
Scoil Bhríde will closed on Friday 27th May. This is to facilitate a Teacher Training in-service day, due to the introduction of a new language curriculum in September. *Normal collection times on Thursday 26th May. School will re-open on Monday 30th May (doors open 9:00a.m., for 9:15 start).

Order of Malta Athgarvan - Fundraiser Friday 20th May 8pm
The Cadets are junior members of the Order of Malta, aged from 10-16. They are being trained in first aid and CPR. All money raised will be put towards their uniforms, and education in First Aid. These children are the life savers of the future. Please come and support.


Update: Sponsored Silence Funds Raised
The Sponsored Silence our 6th Class pupils undertook on 14th April raised an amazing €1,513.33. This was in aid of 'Maintain Hope' charity, which is run by Mr. Gerry O’ Donoghue (retired principal of Scoil Bhríde) Mr. O’ Donoghue came in to show the students a video of the children in the school in Africa. The monies will be used to buy uniforms and books for the African children to allow them access to education. Thank you to all those who sponsored this fundraising effor
