About Us

A Note from Principal, Marion Sherlock
Welcome to the website of Scoil Bhríde, Athgarvan. 
 
Situated on the Curragh Plains, Scoil Bhríde is one of  seven Catholic Primary Schools in the Newbridge Parish.  Scoil Bhríde is a vertical, co-educational school with classes of boys and girls from Junior Infants to 6th Class.  A school on the current site was first built in 1965 and has grown to the 12 classroom, 316 pupil school it is in 2020/21

Our school crest consists of a St. Brigid’s cross and blue water representing the local River Liffey.  Our school motto is ‘Áit do Pháistí’ (a place for children) and this is at the heart of everything we do. 
 
Scoil Bhríde is a very active school with a vibrant, healthy lifestyle committee.  Sports engaged in include basketball, football, tag rugby, gymnastics and athletics.  Other school activities include chess, sewing & gardening club.
 
The senior pupils have a student council who work on behalf of all pupils to ensure they too have a voice. 
 
We, at Scoil Bhríde, are very proud of all our pupils and strive to be a vital part of the local community.  We hope you enjoy this website which will help you to learn more about our school and the wonderful children who attend it.
