A Note from Coach

I would like to congratulate the Girls Senior Footballers who have just finished up for the year. We had a wonderful season and the girls were a credit to the school in every game they played. 

​

Thankfully, we had a large panel of enthusiastic girls this year. We had lots of fun at training and at games. We played a blitz in Kilcullen at the start of the year to kick start the League where we won one match against Kildare Town and lost one against Kilcullen. 

​

We then went on to play the League where we were up against Nurney, Kilmead, Rathmore, Ballymore and Castledermot. We were in a very strong division, but the girls never gave up once and fought until the bitter end in every game. For that, I have to congratulate them and because of this pure team spirit and determination, they came out on top against a very strong Ballymore team. 

​

We may not have come out with any silverware, but we have had a fantastic year. The girls are a wonderful and dedicated bunch and it was a pleasure to work with them this year.

 

I would also like to thank Ms. Chute for all her help, support and the driving she did while we were training and playing.  Both myself and the girls really appreciated it.  I would also like to extend a thank to all of the parents that drove to games this year.  Your support is greatly appreciated and without volunteers such as yourselves, these matches would not happen.

We will saying goodbye to some very talented footballers this year and I want to thank the girls for all the dedication and fun over the years and hope that they all keep up Gaelic after they leave 6th class.

For those of you interested in playing football outside of school, Athgarvan GAA has training on every Saturday morning at half ten.
